Requirements
Who Can Participate
The competition is open to all currently enrolled Bachelor's and Master's students in Switzerland. Participants must have no
affiliation with the Network Security Group (NetSec) at ETH Zürich, or Zürcher Kantonalbank.
Team Composition
A project is developed by a team consisting of 1 to 3 participants. All participants must individually meet the eligibility criteria above, and each participant may only be part of one team.
Submission Guidelines
- Language: English only.
- Format: 3 pages (excluding references), typeset in LaTeX using the provided template.
- Before Submitting: You can create new projects until 31st of March. Your project is not considered submitted until you press the "Submit" button.
- Submission: Every team can make a single submission. Once you submit the project, you can not make further changes.
Project Scope
The competition runs across three tracks, each capped at 15 teams.
- Networking, Routing Security, and SCION
- Authorization, Authentication, E-ID
- Fintech Security
Evaluation Criteria
A panel of experts will evaluate your submission. The jurors are looking for ideas that are bold, creative, and solve real tangible problems. Consult the following list of criteria, it is not an authoritative list but can help you evaluate your submission:
- Originality: Does it push beyond what already exists?
- Security Impact: Does it meaningfully reduce risk or raise the bar?
- Real-World Relevance: Does it solve a real pain point? Could it become a product or startup?
- Startup Potential: Could this become a product or company? Is there a real path to market?
- Practicality: Is the scope realistic? Can it actually be built?
- Submission Quality: Is the argument clear and well-structured?
